Dimitrios Katsiris is a Senior Healthcare IT Executive with more than 20 years of experience leading the design, implementation, and governance of large-scale digital health programs and healthcare information systems. He has extensive expertise in aligning technology strategy with healthcare policy, clinical requirements, and organizational objectives, delivering measurable improvements in operational efficiency, interoperability, regulatory compliance, and patient outcomes.
Throughout his career, he has played a leading role in nationally significant digital health initiatives in Greece, including the National Electronic Health Record (EHR), Primary Healthcare and Personal Physician Information Systems, Electronic Prescription Services, Ηospital information systems, and major digital transformation programs for public healthcare organizations such as IDIKA, EOPYY and EKAPY.
He currently serves as Senior Project Manager for Healthcare IT and Digital Transformation initiatives procured and managed by IDIKA, overseeing the planning, implementation, and governance of strategic national eHealth projects supporting the modernization of Greece’s healthcare ecosystem. His recent work includes the Health Monitoring project of IDIKA, a key initiative supporting public health surveillance, population health analytics, and Greece’s compliance with the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
His multidisciplinary academic background combines engineering, information systems, business administration, project management, and public health. He holds a BEng in Microelectronic and Computer Engineering and an MSc in Data Communication Systems from Brunel University, an MBA in Engineering-Economic Systems from the National Technical University of Athens, and professional certifications in Project Management and Agile methodologies. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Public Health and Policies, further strengthening his expertise in digital health governance, public health strategy, and evidence-based healthcare policymaking.
His areas of expertise and interest include health data governance, interoperability, secondary use of health data, digital health transformation, public health surveillance, and the development of data-driven healthcare services and evidence-based public health policies. He is particularly focused on how trusted data ecosystems and AI-driven solutions can scale across organizations, enabling innovation, operational efficiency, evidence-based decision-making, and improved health outcomes.
