Stefanos Kollias is Chairman of the Board of the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET). He is Emeritus Professor in School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens. He has been Professor and Visiting Researcher in Universities in UK and USA. He is Member of the European Expert Group on (AI for) Cultural Heritage. He has been elected as Member of the Board of Directors of the Technical University of Crete. He is IEEE Fellow, having produced a world leading research activity in the field of Machine/Deep Learning and AI. He has published 300 papers in international journals and conferences, with about 17000 citations and h-index 61 (Google Scholar). He has supervised 50 Ph.D. students, many of them being Academics in USA, Europe and Greece. He has led his group participation in 100 European R&D projects. He is Coordinator of the Greek AI Factory PHAROS, which: has been one of the first seven (out of 19) AI Factories by EuroHPC-JU; has four AI Factory Antennas, in Cyprus, Malta, Serbia, North Macedonia.
