Thomas Bartzanas is Professor and Vice Rector for Research, Finance and Development at the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), where he also directs the Laboratory of Farm Structures. He serves as Chairman of the Board of SmartAgroHub S.A., an AUA spin-off dedicated to advancing digital innovation in agriculture. His research focuses on smart and sustainable agrifood systems, including controlled-environment agriculture, greenhouse and vertical farming technologies, resource efficiency, and environmental impact assessment through Life Cycle Assessment. He is Associate Editor of Biosystems Engineering, Vice-Chair of the Structures & Environment Committee of CIGR, a member of EurAgEng, and serves on European scientific advisory bodies supporting open and impactful agricultural research.
